Silkscreen Printing
Silkscreen printing is the most common. It is a printing technique whereby the artwork is converted to screens & then the ink is pressed through the screens onto the CD or DVD. The printing is done in 1 to 6 colors. The inks can be printed on a white flood background, or directly onto the silver media.
Offset Printing
Offset printing is one of the most popular print methods. Four ink colors (CMYK - cyan, magenta, yellow and black) are transferred onto plates and rollers & then onto the CD/DVD surface. Offset printing completes the look of any disc with full color artwork for a truly professional appearance. Offset printing is good for all types of CDs/DVDs and offers the best resolution for detailed artwork and photographs. The overall quality of offset printing is much better than silkscreen.
Thermal Disc Printing
Thermal disc printers involve the use of a fixed print head and a polyester ribbon coated with ink. As a disc and the print ribbon are forced under the print head, tiny pixels are heated and cooled to melt the ink off of the polyester. Thermal printing is available on silver or white base for CDs and DVDs. You can apply basic text and graphics in only black ink.
Inkjet Disc Printing
Inkjet printing is very popular due to its high quality, fast turnaround and low cost. These printers work by spraying droplets of ink onto the CD or DVD being printed. Offered in full colour or black, Inkjet printing gives you quick printing solution.
